His Latest Flame are from Cape Town, South Africa, formed in 2006 and they acquired their name from the Elvis Presley UK number 1, (Marie’s The Name) His Latest Flame. According to NME’s Mark Mentiros “their sound has flavours of eighties post punk and indie with a self assured vintage sixties element” but for the most part they are quite unclassifiable, falling neither into the current Indie scen nor the Lo-fi scene. Samp3 had this to say, “Brand new SA group gives REM fans a reason to smile with this moody melodic rocker”.
